Peter Cary Peterson
was one of six teens on "NYC Prep", a television show on BRAVO about attending New York's elite prep schools. He was
also the only one of the six who actually should have been on TV at
all. The show for the most part left you bored or with a feeling of
contempt, but you might have decided to turn it back on for one reason,
Peter Cary (PC) Peterson. It did not matter if you liked him or not, PC
was by far the most interesting aspect of the show. He carried NYC Prep
to decent ratings PC descends from a successful family. His grandfather, Peter George Peterson (born
June 5, 1926) is an American businessman, investment banker, fiscal
conservative, author, and politician whose most prominent political
position was as United States Secretary of Commerce for Richard Nixon.
PC's grandmother, Joan Ganz Cooney
(born November 30, 1929 in Phoenix, Arizona) is an American television
producer. She is one of the founders of Sesame Street. Peter's mom is
also a well recieved New York Artist. PC himself aspires to be an actor
and claims he appeared in "NYC Prep" to further his ating career.
This is much to the chagrin of PC's grandfather, Peter George Peterson
who is apparently mortified and ashamed by PC and his portrayal on "NYC
Prep". We would have to disagree with gramps disdain. Peter Cary did a
relatively good job of creating interesting television. Today, reality
TV is about portraying what the viewers want to see not "true reality".
Look at Flava Flav, Bret Micheal, or All The Real Housewives cast
members, if you think that is their "real life" you are crazy. That is
a very smiler version of their "real life" including cameras, contrived
scenes, make up, microphones ,a budget and whether it be on purpose or
subconsciously these reality shows come with acting.
Peter Cary did a fine job at his half reality half acting role as PC on
NYC Prep. We will just have to wait and see if he can turn this into a
successful full blown acting career. The odds may very well not be in
his favor, we have not seen many reality stars make it; but pc seems
different. We wish him luck.
