Dip Set 2010 Reunion
Diplomats Reunion Featuring Mase?
Camron and Jim Jones have finally
let on to their oncoming reunion. We have been hearing about the likely reunion
for a while from record execs and inside sources. Miss Info exclusively reported
on her web site that ,
“Tracing the history of the Dipset
split and the rollercoaster ride that followed, it always felt like the main
problem was a communication disconnect.” This disconnect has apparently
been cleared up, according to Miss Info after an informative conversation she
had with both men; although she does caution,
“Ok, so no speeding, Dipset fans. Let’s not call it a “reunion” just yet. But
this is still progress, especially since the last time the subject came up.” This certainly is progress, and it is more progress than miss info is
letting on.
Jim Jones (the less guarded and
the seemingly less business savy of the two) let on to some of the plans that
were actually beyond the stage of just “progress”. We hear these are concrete
plans for a Dip Set reunion, filled with things you wouldn’t expect. The return
of Juelz Santana is almost certain and they are just working out the details. “We’re all successful, me and Cam and
Juelz, so we’re blessed. But that comes with responsibilities.” Jim Jones said, letting on to their already planned reunion. “God works in mysterious ways…a
couple people took vacations, and there’s a lane that’s wide open. What we
built solo since Dipset grew apart, we can combine and make even stronger
together. I needed to clear my conscious before we work on building a bigger
and better movement. Plus, consider it fair warning to everyone else.”
Jim Jones couldn’t help but let on to the future plans for a Dip Set reunion.
Cam, Jim Jones and Santana will
still have much of their supporting cast. J.R. Writer, 40 Cal, and the ultimate
hype man Freekey Zekey never left Camron’s side, they remained part of Dip Set.
Hell Rell and Jha Jha left the group but Hell Rell has always remained open to
a reunion. Rappers Byrd Lady, Vado, Un Casa and business man Omar “iceman” Sharif will
also be joining the team.
Omar “iceman” Sharif is known for
brokering big deals in hip hop and for helping to bring together hip hop
relationships(often they don’t work, example: Nas joining Murder Inc.). Well
Omar the business man has already began making his impact. Many people close to
dipset have been talking about Omar getting Mase to join the rap group. A vital
plan to overhaul Dipset with Harlems most recognizable rappers, and bring in
some young talent to a long living Dip Set movement. Mase has expressed much interest
in joining his friends but we hear Jim Jones is skeptical and does not think he
deserves all the leadership roles, business positions or money that he or Cam
will have. Jim Jones thinks(and is probably correct) that Mase’s ego will make
him think he is one of the main members of the crew whenin fact he has been
M.I.A. for the entire movement. Camron is apparently fine with mase joining because,
of course, cam is all about business and mase would potentially bring a lot of
hype to the rap group. Also, speaking honestly, Mase could arguably have had
the most succesfull solo music career in the group with only Camron as a challenger
in that department.
The always political and guarded business
man Camron still remains coy about the project and is trying to keep it under
wraps so it can release with a bang. “yes,
me and Jim have been speaking, we’re working out the mechanics of this, and looking
at our options right now”. Says Dip Set’s most recognizable
and succesfull member.
Camron, Juelz Santana, Freekey
Zeekey, and Jim Jonez reuiniting is an exciting prospect to many Dip Set fans,
add in the rest of the Dip Set clan and people start reminiscing the old Diplomatic
Immunity days, add in bad boy’s hip
hop legend Mase plus a hard nosed business
man Omar sharif and you have a legitimate hip hop movement poised for a
potential massive comeback even if all the top members are well out of their
prime.
